Rizwan Safdar, MD
Dr. Rizwan Safdar, MD has been practicing since 1991 and is the founder and primary provider at Ironwood Gastroenterology in Tucson Arizona.
Dr. Safdar is board certified in Gastroenterology and graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College, University Of Health Sciences Lahore in 1991. Dr. Safdar completed a residency at St. Louis University School of Medicine – St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Safdar has has worked on more claims relating to Noninfectious Gastroenteritis and Colitis, Constipation and Intestinal Diverticulosis than other providers in the area. At present, Dr. Safdar has received an average rating of 2.8 from patients and has been reviewed 70 times.

Elyse Hammett, FNP
Elyse Hammett is a family nurse practitioner who has been in practice since 2006. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona both for her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
She initially started her career working in Family Medicine at a Tucson community clinic, followed by working as a hospitalist in Internal Medicine at a local hospital. She began her career specializing in Gastroenterology in 2014. She has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings managing a variety of gastroenterology related conditions. She enjoys educating patients on their conditions and helping them navigate their lives to better health.
Elyse is a native Arizonan, having grown up in the small town of Bisbee. She is married and has two children. She enjoys running, reading and spending time with family, friends and her furry family.
